Let's get under the hood of your
car. Look under the dash for a
hood release handle. It will look
like one of the two shown below.
Pull on it to open the hood. Some
hoods are counterbalanced by
springs and some require that you
place a rod under it to hold it

open. Look either in your owners
manual or pull it open and see if you
need to support it to hold it up. Find
the rod either across the front by the
radiator or on the side along the
fender and prop the hood open. Make
sure it is properly anchored in the
hood for safety's sake.
